Winter Gritting - Your feedback and input is required

Posted on: 26th July 2010

Whilst it seems early to be even contemplating the winter months, KMBC is already about to commence a Scrutiny Review of its winter gritting service.   A spokesperson from KMBC said “Access to key business premises was a key issue of the last winter”.  Lesley Martin-Wright from Knowsley Chamber has been invited to attend one of the sessions, and therefore the Chamber is looking for businesses to feedback what plans they have in place for this year’s bad weather (if it comes) and their requirements.

The Scoping Document intends:-

  1. To review the Council’s current Winter Service policy taking into account the recommendations of the national review and Knowsley own internal review into last winter’s severe weather conditions.
  2. To consider the current operational arrangements in order to determine the future service delivery model having regard to the Council’s financial efficiency agenda and the potential for service delivery options including shared services.
  3. To make recommendations to Cabinet for the Winter Service Operational Plan for winter 2010/11.

Business feedback to be received by Knowsley Chamber no later than 16 August 2010
