As part of its ongoing investment and expansion Avanti Environmental Group has installed a new LP65VH2 Presona fully automatic baler.

The Merseyside based company which was recently acquired by the American Stericycle Group currently employs 150 people across three sites and specialises in environmental management and recycling.

Steve Kinley, Avanti’s Recycling Commercial Director said: "We looked at most of the major baler manufacturers and for our requirements the Presona really ticked all the boxes. We wanted a robust and reliable machine capable of handling everything from cardboard and paper to rigid plastics and film and with the Presona capable of processing up to 250 tonnes per day, it was the perfect fit with our expansion”.

Avanti's recycling Centre based in Knowsley just outside Liverpool has seen a sharp increase in demand for recyclable material. The company which was recently bought by Stericycle Inc, an American based multi-national specialises in post industrial recycling for large corporate accounts in the automotive, chemical, engineering and food sectors.

Steve Kinley added: "The increase in activity over the past twelve months has been amazing with throughput quadrupling in just over a year. Our mix of innovative modern plastic recycling coupled with traditional cardboard and paper processing makes us one of the market leaders in the recycling community”.

The company announced significant investment as part of its 2010 Business Plan and more equipment is already on order and is scheduled to be installed over the summer period.
