Launch Of The New Compact Range Rover - Evoque

Following Thursday’s star-studded launch at The Orangery, Kensington Palace in the presence of 600 guests including Victoria Beckham, on 2 July 2010 Phil  Popham, Managing Director of Land Rover, and Michael Straughan, Operations Director, greeted guests and staff at the Halewood Plant, Merseyside to launch the Range Rover EVOQUE

Lesley Martin-Wright, Chief Executive Knowsley Chamber of Commerce was delighted to attend the Halewood launch.  Lesley said “The car was stunning.  It’s the smallest, lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover that has ever produced, and will be on sale to the public in Summer 2011. 

“This is marvellous news for the multi-award winning Halewood plant and great news for Merseyside where some 1,000 new jobs will be created.  The designers were very conscious of the home and the export market; this car will be sold in some 160 countries which will be a huge boost for the UK economy.”
